Hi! I'm Macayla, a graphic designer and a 2026 bride-to-be, diving headfirst into the world of DIYs! If you're anything like me, you have a million pinterest boards, a mindful budget, and a vision you're not willing to compromise on.

Here, I'll be sharing the details on my DIY projects – what worked, what didn't, and what I wish someone had told me sooner. I'll also link the exact products, templates, tools, and materials I'm using, in case you want to recreate the magic (or avoid a crafting meltdown)!

Let's Create Something Beautiful

Think of this blog as your creative bestie: part inspiration board, part how-to guide, and 100% judgement free. Come along and create some magic – one project and one coffee-fueled day at a time.

How to Pinpoint Your Style as a DIY Bride

Starting your wedding planning (and DIY projects) can feel overwhelming – especially when you love everything you see on Pinterest. If you're anything like me and have been saving wedding inspiration for a while, it can be hard to figure out where to even begin.

One of the easiest ways, I've found, to narrow down your style is to scroll through all your saved pins and look for repeating patterns. Pay attention to the colors, textures, and styles that keep popping up – you'll be surprised how quickly a theme will start to jump out at you!

  • Repeating colors – Do you keep pinning soft neutrals? Bold brights?

  • Textures and materials – Lots of lace, velvet, floral appliqués?

  • Overall vibe – Romantic and whimsical? Modern and minimal? Boho and earthy?

Narrowing it Down

Another tip: start with a season. I'm getting married in Massachusetts, where we have all four to pick from – spring, summer, fall, or winter – and each one naturally comes with its own mood and inspiration. Choosing a season can help focus your ideas even more.

  • Spring – Fresh florals, pastels, garden-party vibes,

  • Summer – Bright, bold colors, beachy or outdoor celebrations.

  • Fall – Rich tones, cozy textures, rustic touches.

  • Winter – Elegant whites and blacks, hints of sparkles.

Quick Exercise:

Grab a notebook or open your notes app and jot down:

  • 5 colors you notice popping up again and again in your saved pins.

  • 3 words that describe the feeling you want your wedding to have (ex: cozy, elegant, playful).

  • 1 season you feel most drawn to for your big day.

This quick exercise will give you a mini "style guide". I hope this helps you feel a lot less overwhelmed and gets you even more excited to start dreaming up your day! Good luck – and don't worry, you're not doing this alone!

Stick around because next, I'm sharing how I put together my bridesmaid proposal boxes – and trust me, it's one of the most fun projects to kick things off!
